Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to chase.
Rajasthan Royals openers Rahane and Short started slowly with continuous overs of spin by KKR. Narine came for the fourth over and he was hit for four 4’s in his over by Rahane. Rahane was seemingly in good knock and a brilliant run out by the KKR captain, Karthik saw him go back to the pavillion. The in-form batsman, Samson got out to the young speedster Mavi at the deep square region with a lazy shot. They finished at 160/8.
Nitish Rana again took two wickets in this match and played a crucial role in breaking a major partnership. Sunil Narine went for 48 runs in his four overs which is the most by him in a match in hisIPL tenure which is actually a very good record to have.
Kolkata Knight Riders lost an early wicket of Chris Lynn but Narine played an uncharacteristic innings finding the gaps and placing the ball well.
Uthappa scored at a strike rate of more than 120. It was a matter of moments that KKR won the match with DK and Rana playing their hand beautifully.
A special mention about Kolkata Knight Rider’s captain Dinesh Karthik who captained this game beautifully for his side. Brilliant bowling changes and perfect field placements placed the game well in their hands.
At the end an easy win for KKR by 7 wickets which propel them to the top of the table.
